regify® services are highly secure. They use patented technology owned by regify to give you a complete end-to-end (from sending to receiving) secured solution that’s easy to use.
How it works?
After registering with Dataguard eMail you can read and write e-mails on the web portal (no software download necessary) or you can use the easy-to-install Masteremail client software. The software is available as an add-In for Windows (Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, Thunderbird), as a standalone version for Windows, MacOS and Linux as well as an App for iPhone/iPad and Android devices. These options ensure that you can use Dataguard eMail as you prefer.
Step 1: Sending
The Dataguard eMail technology encrypts your e-mail (message text, attachments) and compresses it before it sending it via your and the addressee’s e-mail providers as an ordinary e-mail with an attachment.
This attachment is a regify file with the encrypted contents of your original e-mail. The respective encryption key is transmitted secured and encrypted to the data clearing service via your regify provider.
Step 2: Receiving
In alignment with the data clearing service, the Dataguard eMail provider of the addressee of your e-mail ensures that the recipient is the right person and will transfer the key.
As a result, the recipient can open the Dataguard eMail file and is able to display or store its contents. This is as simple as, for example, opening a pdf file with Acrobat Reader.
Step 3: Confirmation of receipt
When the key is delivered and the Dataguard eMail file opened, the recipient’s provider will notify the data clearing service. The data clearing service will notify us who in return, via e-mai, will notify you about delivery of the Dataguard eMail file. Confirmation of receipt is recorded independently of the notification e-mail.

What is the price of Dataguard eMail?
Dataguard eMail is a service for anyone and the company will always attractively price its offering for providers. As the price is based on how many users you have, pricing can vary.
Which email clients are supported by regify?
At present, regify supports Microsoft Outlook from 2010 and later (32 Bit version, 64 Bit beginning with Office 2013), Mozilla Thunderbird from V.38 and later as well as Lotus Notes from version 8.53 and later. There are also clients for Mac OS and Linux available which can send messages as standalone SMTP client.
Do you also support Office 365?
Office 365 is a licensing model from Microsoft. Even if you bought it, you will probably still use Outlook, Word and Excel. We support Outlook with our Add In (for example Outlook 2016). However, the Add In is not suitable for “Outlook Web Access” (OWA) because this website version does not support classical Add In’s.
What are Dataguard eMail’s advantages compared to traditional PKI (PGP, S/MIME etc.)?
Dataguard eMail from regify is an alternative technique and does not work in the same way as PGP or other PKI methods.
The benefits are:
Dataguard eMail is much easier to administer and to handle
Dataguard eMail generates a receipt confirmation.
Dataguard eMail transactions are traceable and auditable at any time (history).
You only have to know someone’s email address and then you can send this person a regify email.
You don’t need to update and maintain locking lists or certificate servers.
In the portal, you can add (delete) representatives. Thus, a user can have his important emails
processed in a controlled manner during his absence.
Collective accounts can be processed in teams using the representative’s function.
Does the user have to install software?
No, but it is the easiest way to use Dataguard eMail (Regimail). Alternatively, a user can generate, send and open regify e-mails directly from the regify portal. This is done at security levels equivalent to online banking.
Why is the Dataguard eMail smaller in size than the size of attachments would suggest?
When creating regify files, the contents are not only being encrypted but also compressed. Thus, regify files can be smaller in size than the embedded original data.
The Dataguard regimail service protects messages from unauthorised access and renders emails trusted and binding thereby providing security and trust in business communication. For the sender of a binding regify email, the sending process is as straightforward as is the receiving process for the addressee of such personal email. Of course, neither the sender nor the recipient have to change anything with their existing email service.
